That Sinking Feeling
After another defeat this time against bottom of the pile Ribston, Sherman learnt a valuable lesson in journalism....not to sit and write tomorrow nights match report whilst watching the rain bounce off the decking! Torrential rain meant a late start for the tie and stand in captain Bupa Boy agreed on a sixteen over slog on the muddy pudding after losing the toss and finding himself taking the lads out to field first.
Truffle Pig Wainy (3-20) and Vassey (3-24) were the pick of the bowlers as Ribston belted the Blubbs bowling round the park finally finishing up on one forty five for seven from their allotted overs. In reply Blubbs were always behind on the rate despite Bungle helping himself to forty five from the gobby hosts attack. Commenting from his van in Hackney a dejected Mario said "Aw right me old china, I'm gatted we've bin dan ova agen, I've been doing a bit of ducking and diving, dodging and weaving darn the old kent road so it weren't certain I'd get back up norf for the the old Lemmeny Snicket match. We coulda used the ham joints nah its tighta than a gnats chuff at the bottam ov the aunty mable." Uncle Peter refused to comment.
