Whixley Woes for Mario

Mario had the bitter taste of defeat in his mouth after Wednesdays match against the Whixley Wanderer's, winning the toss and electing to bat Mario shoved Angry and Vassey up the order to get the game under way. A steady start for the visitors saw only thirty runs on the board after ten overs leaving Mario much to do in the second half of the innings, Blubbs eventually finishing up on ninety with knocks of twenty one and twenty six from Angry and Mario, Arnie looked to be regaining some form with the bat but Angry converted an easy two into a difficult one and Arnie was left stranded half way down the track and run out for twelve. 

In reply Whixley made light work of the run chase thanks largely to nice buffet laid on by Sherman and Winton at the start of the second innings and with still nine overs remaining the hosts sailed past the target with eight wickets still in reserve.

There was drama before the game began as Winton rattled the score box "knocking up", the air turned blue as Uncle Peter fired off a barrage expletives at the tanned wonder who could only stand and tremble at Bob's wrath. After the game Arnie, a man of few words could only say "Angry's a dead man, I'm having a bad enough season as it is without that clown running me out!". Oh well Arnie there's always next week.......if you get a bat!
