As Friday night blended into Saturday afternoon, Sherman knew he was in trouble, vague memories of texting Angry and Winton the night before flashed through his hazy mind and thoughts of Plattsey and Vassey laughing at his insulting texts to Winton did little to settle his head as he dragged his bag down the slope for the game against third in the table Pannal. A polite call from Angry two hours earlier had Sherman thinking everything was ok but it soon became clear it was only because Angry couldn't be bothered to do the teas and needed a mug to rush to Asda to prevent embarrassment for the club.

As Sherman took to the field Winton disappeared up the banking and everyone knew it was going to be one of those days, Angry questioning Shermans whereabouts the night before as Vassey and Plattsey sloped off making themselves scarce to avoid the glare from the angry Angry's interrogation lamp. After a long fifteen minutes on the field Angry finally headed out to the middle to flip the coin and see who would batting first, a wrong call from the visitors captain and it was Pannal who found themselves padding up for the first innings.

A subdued Winton got the game underway and it was clear from the outset that Pannal meant business as Henry slotted the Blubberhouses paceman for nine from his first over. No Frankie this week saw Gobby back from the stiffs and opening up from the River End, a maiden from the Ginger Junior restored a little order to the start of the innings but Henry was intent on taking the game to the table leaders and within eight overs the Pannal opener was waving his bat in the air with fifty to his name as Winton waved the white flag and Angry had to turn to the Blubberhouses "George Best" Sherman to take up the attack from the Woodyard End.

The run rate started to slow down as the Pannal openers tried to work out where Sherman was going to put the next delivery, Sherman finally got one on target as Hare wafted wildly at one outside off stump which gripped the deck and over went the sticks and Pannal were eighty nine for one.

Gobby finished off a six over spell and Angry brought Plattsey into the attack as the thirteenth over got underway, Pannal racing along at eight an over and looking like posting a big score for Blubbs to chase down, four overs into his spell and Plattsey finally removed Powell from the field, a looping pie finding the bottom of the bat and a diving Bungle scooping up the catch at mid-wicket.

Eight runs later and the third Pannal wicket fell, Sherman sending down a quicker ball which Henry tickled behind the sticks to Vassey, up went the finger and the dangerman was on way back to the hut for sixty eight as the hosts celebrated and Angry once again was hunting for the bowling point.

Broadley was next on the hit list, a length ball from Plattsey supposedly clipping off stump had the Pannal number five on his way after a stewards enquiry determined the ball hadn't bounced off the keepers gloves and back onto the sticks and Blubbs had ten overs to take the remaining six wickets.

Sherman finished his twelve and Bubba was summonsed to take over from the weary artillery, two overs later and Angry hit the power button as the Machine took over the attack from Plattsey at the River End.

As the overs ticked by the bowling point was slowly slipping from Angry's grasp, Winton skittled Kamstra for forty five in the closing overs with Pannal on one ninety seven but Hendry remained at the crease picking off runs knowing there was still wickets in the hut.

As the forty fifth over came to a close Bubba finally rattled out Hendry for fifty two and Pannal had two hundred and nine on the board and it was game on for the second half, Blubbs needing two hundred and ten for victory.

After the tea interval Winton and Vassey took to the field to get the run chase underway, Blubbs now needing two hundred and twelve for victory and the innings didn't getting off to the best of starts when Vassey let one through the gates in the second over and Blubbs were fourteen for one as Bubba made his way out to to the middle with still one ninety eight needed for victory.

Bubba moved minus twenty runs nearer to Wintons season haul before holing out for twenty five and Plattsey was staggering out to the middle at four to continue the run chase.

Three balls later and Blubbs found themselves worryingly on eighty nine for four as Plattsey played at the wrong ball, nicking the right ball behind to the keeper and as Angry made his way out to the middle Blubbs still needed one twenty eight for victory and the alarm bells started ringing in the hut.

Angry held up the non-strikers end as Winton smashed his way to another ton for the season and it looked like he would finally get his first red inker of the season, the partnership of seventy finally coming to an end as Angry tried to pull one over cow corner totally missing the ball as it rattled the top of off stump and Bungle was striding out to the middle intent on bettering last weeks innings.

As Winton slapped the Pannal attack around the park Bungle did his best to keep up with the rusty coloured mechanical device and as the score passed two hundred Angry's mood softened knowing five points were almost in the bag, more tripe from the Pannal attack and Blubbs eased to victory with still seventeen overs remaining and the now happy captain could retire to the Sun safe in the knowledge he was still top of the table.
