When two tribes go to war a point is all you can score according to Frankie goes to Hollywood, but Sherman told Stonewall to Relax as things weren't that bad but what did he know anyway.

Stonewall on winning the toss decided to let Leonard bat first, yes bat first on the finest batting track in the division if not all divisions, Angry shook his head in dis-belief and Blubbs knew they were in for more tap than a visit to the Plumb Centre.

The game kicked off on time at two, not on time was the scorer and no-one knew where she was, rumours of bust ups, Cookie back on the scene and wild orgies were ripe on the field as Sherman opened up the attack from the Pavilion End, Bubba kept quiet. With almost twenty on the board after two overs ten of the visiting side knew fielding first wasn't the best thing to be doing as the sun appeared and the day got warmer.

Sherman got a lucky breakthrough in the fifth over when Eustance mis-hit one straight up to mid-off, it looked like a guaranteed drop when everyone saw the windmill cranking up and the sails starting to spin, it was Pepparami under the catch and his arms flailed and his legs wobbled before finally managing to cling onto the skier and Leonard were seventeen for one.

Sherman's next over was back to normal with ball pinging down leg and after his fifth Stonewall consigned him back the artillary pool and brought himself into the attack.

The runs continued to flow and Stonewall was starting to worry, Swing eventually broke up the second wicket partnership bowling Stansfield for eighteen and Leonard were sixty six for two with still plenty of batting to come.

Bubba replaced Stonewall and Swing made way for Splinter but chances were few and far between, another partnership fell just short of fifty when Bubba skittled Blacken for seventeen but dangerman Wray was still there and still piling on the runs.

Birtwistle was next to fall, the score on one hundred and thirty two, after missing Splinter's arm ball and the finger went up to the leg before appeal and Burton had lost wicket number four.

Wray continued to smash the ball round the ground and Stonewall was beginning to feel the heat, eventually Splinter picked up his second of the day when Fox nicked a wide one into Hebbs safe gloves and it was one hundred and seventy five for five.

The score passed the two hundred mark and Leonard were looking at the two fifty mark, Wray passed his century, still looking dangerous as Stonewall strangely turned to Pepperami for inspiration from the Scoreboard End and Sherman returning at the other.

Pepperami picked up a surprise wicket when Murray swiped at a short ball and only succeeded in finding the top edge to Sherman at third man but Leonard were still in command with two hundred and four on the board.

Twenty eight runs later, most of them off Pepperami, Sherman picked up two quick wickets removing Carass for twelve and Parker two balls later for none and Burton were two thirty two eight with three over's to go.

More quick scoring from Wray saw Leonard eventually settle on two hundred and fifty one for nine with the centurion being run out on the last ball for one hundred and thirty five.

Stonewall took to the field with Angry looking at a massive two hundred and fifty two for victory knowing one of them needed a big score to set the foundations for victory. Things got off to a great start with boundaries aplenty from the Blubbs openers, the score racing along at more than the required rate.

Forty four on the board and disaster struck, Stonewall's ball magnet legs once again finishing off his innings leg before for nineteen Bubba was sent to the crease to replace him the pressure was on.

Angry was next to tumble and the visitors heads dropped, an airy fairy drive went straight up to extra cover and both openers were back in the hut with only seventy four on the board.

Leonard dealt Stonewalls cause another lusty blow when Arnie followed an away swinger from Blacken and only succeeded in nicking it straight into the keepers hands and at seventy five for three the game was slipping away from the visitors at a fast rate.

Despite not troubling the scorers last week, Sherman was allowed to bat at five again and after a shaky start managed to get off the mark with an angled bat to third man for four, Bubba looked concerned as Sherman followed the ball like a bear following honey, or like Sherman following beer.

A fight back from the Blubbs number three and five steadily saw the score move on to one hundred and forty, Bubba notching up his first and probably last half century of the season, a lapse in concentration saw Shermans stumps take a knock and we was on his way back to the shed for twenty one.

Splinter went five runs later for a single run, trying a pull to leg but only managing to gloving one up to the keeper and Blubbs were once again on the rack and looking in big trouble still one hundred and seven runs short of the target.

Bungle accompanied by brother Bubba and put up some resistance, Angry reckoned there was still a chance of winning, that was until Bungle made a bungle and lobbed up a simple catch to mid-on, brother Bubba closely followed in his footsteps after trying to smash one into the tennis courts, totally missing the ball and the stumps were down again ending a respectable innings of seventy four.

Swing was the new man in joining Pepperami, he was quickly off the mark and quickly back in the hut after edging one onto his pads and the finger was up again and another leg before went down in the book.

With eight down it was almost game over for Blubbs with only realistically the batting point left to play for Pepperami and Piewalker held fast for the remaining seven over's making sure Blubbs didn't walk away totally empty handed.

A defeat for Blubbs and a tough game with Thornton next week, Stonewall has a lot to think about for the next six days, everyone else is left thinking "Is Sarah alright?" she says she is but as all us blokes know, when a woman says there's nowt wrong it usually means there is....I'll leave it with you Bubba.
