Torrential rain on Friday and a heavy shower on Saturday had the game in doubt as Blubbs travelled to Birstwith for this weeks fixture, after some consideration the umpires agreed a two thirty toss and a three o'clock start with thirty five over per side as Sherman and Heardie discussed barge trips around the countryside.........More
Ouseburn Away 2011Ouseburn Overhaul

Winning the toss Angry decided it might be best for Blubbs to field first and give Bubba time to shake off his whiplash, concussion, shock and sore finger after been thrown around Gazzas Gimp-mobile thirty minutes prior to arriving at the ground.........More

Alne were the visitors at Brennanhouses this week and after giving Blubbs a good thumping in the reverse fixture earlier in the season Angry was determined to seek revenge on home soil. Alne won the toss and decided to stick Blubbs into bat hoping for a repeat perfomance from the last encounter as Angry and Bubba made their way out to the middle to commence proceedings.

Bubba got off to conservative start as Angry pummelled everything loose to the boundary and the Blubbs openers looked settled at the crease as the runs flowed freely. Not wanting to be out done, Bubba started to open the throttle passing Angry's score and passing fifty as Blubbs reached a hundred in the sixteenth over. Two runs short of his fifty and Angry played a slack shot, chipping up a simple catch and Winton was at the crease with one twenty two on the board.

Alne started to leak runs as the Blubbs two and three kept on finding the gaps and with one fifty on the board and still twenty overs to go, three hundred was well within range as Winton notched up fifty and Bubba looked like picking up the first ton for the season for the firsts.

Two thirteen on the board and disaster for Bubba, three runs short of his ton a failed flick over mid-on dropped straight to the fielder and The Sulk was on his way back to the shed as Bertie took guard out in the middle.

Four runs later and the all too familiar middle order collapse was starting to haunt the angry skipper, Bertie took a walk down the wicket, stumped for two quickly followed by Winton knocking up another simple catch and one run later Hoff was trapped in front of the sticks for one as Blubbs wobbled on two eighteen for five with still ten overs to play.

Gobby joined Whacker in the middle and tried to steady the ship as the Blubbs six machine started to tuck into the Alne attack, Gobby reached "unlucky for some" thirteen before missing a straight one from Henley and over went the sticks, two forty six for six.

Five overs to play and Bungle was at the crease and with Sherman next man in he knew he had to stay out in the middle to the end, the boundaries continued to flow in the dying overs as Blubbs neared three hundred and with one ball remaining Bungle threw the kitchen sink at the last delivery knowing the batting point was safe, sadly Bungle mis-hit the ball straight up in the air and Blubbs finished on two ninety seven for seven as Angry's first tea in four years beckoned.

Winton and Whacker got the second half under way and it wasn't long before Alne had things worry about, only eight runs on the board and Myers (E) knocked up a simple catch to Gobby, gifting Winton his first wicket of the day.

The Alne two and three put up resistance to the Blubbs pace attack as the score passed fifty, Angry looked to Sherman and Gobby for a change of pace and Sherman produced the goods, Kenny trying to turn one round the corner only managed a leading edge and the big unit had an easy caught and bowled under his tight belt and Alne were sixty three for two with both openers back in the hut.

The visitors struggled on with the run chase and twenty two runs later Sherman had two as Proudley swished wildly spooning the ball into the air for Butch to claim from behind the sticks and Alne were in trouble still a long way off the point never mind the target.

Henley (R) played Sherman cautiously but once settled, took the attack to the home team, slapping the bowling into every field. After twenty overs, Alne were ahead of Blubbs and on for an upset but just before drinks Gobby got his revenge on Henley, Whacker charging in like a raging bull from long on to claim the catch and the visitors were one thirty five for four and the dangermen gone.

Sherman claimed his third victim as Beaumont walked across his stumps and missed, the finger went up and the rabbit hunter's ears pricked up. Bell soon followed, missing a rare straight delivery from Sherman and at one hundred and fifty for six, Angry was beginning to believe the win was near.

Sure enough, Fudd replaced Gobby, cartridges loaded and immediately started shelling the peas. An angry Vassey behind the stumps told him to bowl a straight one and Bolton was gone, as the umpires finger raised and wicket number seven fell. Seven became eight as Wintons second straight ball of the match resulted in the finger going up again and Myers (R) trapped in front of the sticks for nought and six points were within reach.

Henley (J) dealt a few blows before he became the rabbit hunters fourth victim, off stump going over and at one hundred and seventy two for nine, Blubbs had thirteen overs to take one wicket.

Winton claimed the last wicket, and with it all six points for the home side, Myers (T) not good enough to keep out the bowling and the worlds worst five wicket haul was complete and the match was over as Angry prepared for a double weekend and panicking about finding two people to do teas.
