A trip to Goldsborough was on the cards as week five got underway and with gale force winds and rain forecast for later it was going to be an important toss to win and with Plattsey AWOL, Gobby made a return to the squad and Angry promised big changes on the back of two miserable defeats at the hands of Masham and Alne. As the coin spun up and landed two strips away covered in icicles Angry had made the right call and Goldsborough were batting first as Winton wound up the windmill.

Winton opened up the bowling from the Windmill End with Whacker taking the second over from the Cornfield End running into the hurricane as the Goldsborough innings got underway. Borough made a steady start and for the first time this season Winton had the barrels correctly aligned bowling a tight line to the openers.

Goldborough's opening stand didn't even reach double figure when Winton picked up a rare top order wicket, a pacy delivery lifting off a length which Cockle failed to avoid and a simple catch to Angry at first slip left the homeside nine for one.

More tight bowling brought wicket number two as Whacker got in on the act trapping Ive leg before and Goldsborough were in trouble at sixteen for two and hoping for the promised rain.

The Borough one and four started trying to resurrect the innings, picking off anything loose and Angry contemplated a change, Winton wasn't coming off and another straight delivery took care of Schneider, trapped leg before for three with a mere thirty seven on the board.

Next over Angry turned to Sherman to take over the wind swept Cornfield End and immediately the change paid off, Sherman launched a pie into the wind and as Judy Garland and Toto floated past, Sauls eyes lit up seeing the big red orb floating down from the sky, a miss-hit pull round the corner only succeeded in finding Hasselhoff and Boroughs canoe was drifting down the river with no sign of any paddles.

Winton should have picked up his third wicket when Cummings chipped the ball aerial and Bungle was called into action at square leg, unfortunately Bungle was watching the windmill and after a brief juggling act the ball ended up at his feet and Borough had a let off.

Forty three on the board and Winton eventually grabbed his third of the day, Cumming was hut bound after trying to pull a grubber to square but only succeeding in getting his pads on the ball, Bungle breathed a sigh of relief and Angry was hoping to end the innings quickly.

Winton finished his twelve and Hasselhoff got the call to take over the attack, Sherman was struggling with the wind and the breeze wasn't doing him any favours either and one more six from Mackrill was enough for Angry as Bertie took over from the Cornfield End.

The wickets dried up and Borough started to pile on the runs a Mackrill and Shorter pushed the score over the hundred mark, Angry was starting to panic as anything over two hundred would be a tough challenge. Bertie and Hasselhoff continued in vain as the batsmen closed in on the hundred partnership, Mackrill six short of his half century went for glory trying to slog Bertie over mid-wicket but the strong breeze held up the ball and Bubba was there to take the catch and Blubbs had the breakthrough.

Unfortunately the breakthorugh brought Robshaw to the crease, five quiet deliveries soon turned to mayhem as Robshaw tucked into the Blubbs bowling attack and the pitiful one hundred and twenty four for six quickly turned into one hundred and eighty six for seven before Bertie finally removed the big hitting Borough number eight for fifty four from twenty five deliveries and Angry knew the last six oversw needed to be quiet ones.

Jackson made a brief appearance at nine, his bat missed the first ball and so did Vassey, thinking there was an easy two Jackson set off back to the strikers end not realising Vassey had his bionic glasses on today and a direct hit saw the Borough number nine yards short of his ground and it was one eighty six for nine.

Gobby replaced Hasselhoff as Angry desperately tried to grab the batting point but Shorter had other ideas and eventually the innings closed on one ninety four for eight and Angry was hoping it wasn't out of reach for his new batting order.

After the cheese feast it was Bubba making his way out to the middle with Hasselhoff as Winton relaxed under Liv's blanket in the pavillion and Bubba was hoping to put a mark on his number one position for the rest of the season.

Blubbs got off to a flyer and Bubba was looking in form punishing the Goldsborough attack at every opportunity, Hasselhoff made a steady confident start watching the new number one showcase his shot selection as the score raced past fifty and Angry almost had a smile on his face.

Bubba passed fifty and looked set for a "big one" as Blubbs passed one hundred for none, one twelve on the board and Bubba flayed at one too many nicking one behind and Gobby was making his way out to the middle at three.

Hasselhoff passed fifty but a quick eight from Gobby and Blubbs were two down as Shorter knocked over the sticks and with one twenty seven on the board Bertie was at the crease and Goldsborough were hoping the visitors had a long tail.

Hasselhoff was next to depart as Cummings took a miraculous catch at deep mid-wicket and the all too familiar Blubbs collapse was on the cards with still another sixty three needed for victory.

Winton the new number five joined Bertie in the middle and looked confident with his new position in the line up, a quick partnership of twenty four came to an end when Bertie holed out in a similar fashion to Bubba and Angry knew he had to bring home the bacon if he wanted five points from the days play.

Twenty one to win and Blubbs lost wicket number five, Winton trying to pull the grubber to square leg, missing with the bat and hitting withe the pad and Bungle was walking out to take guard hoping his second half performance would be better than his first.

Steady batting brought Blubbs to within eight runs of victory and Bungle had had enough, two loose deliveries from Cummings yielded the young Donatello two boundaries and it was game over as Angry notched up win number two for the season.
