Shermans Shack

Pannal 2nds Home

As Friday night blended into Saturday afternoon, Sherman knew he was in trouble, vague memories of texting Angry and Winton the night before flashed through his hazy mind and thoughts of Plattsey and Vassey laughing at his insulting texts to Winton did little to settle his head as he dragged his bag down the slope for the game against third in the table Pannal. A polite call from Angry two hours earlier had Sherman thinking everything was ok but it soon became clear it was only because Angry couldn't be bothered to do the teas and needed a mug to rush to Asda to prevent embarrassment for the club.

That Sinking Feeling

After another defeat this time against bottom of the pile Ribston, Sherman learnt a valuable lesson in journalism....not to sit and write tomorrow nights match report whilst watching the rain bounce off the decking! Torrential rain meant a late start for the tie and stand in captain Bupa Boy agreed on a sixteen over slog on the muddy pudding after losing the toss and finding himself taking the lads out to field first.

Burton Leonard Away

Angry was touting this weeks fixture as the biggest of the season as the fleet sailed to Burton Leonard for round fourteen of the season and with showers forecast for the afternoon it would be a good toss to win, Angry predicted the coin would land on it's edge and Blubbs found themselves batting first on a damp green deck which looked inviting for the bowling attack.

It's a Washout!

Marios misery continued this week as the game against the Birstwith Bangers was called off due to rain, as the thunder cracked above the ground Angry was still wondering why Uncle had called the game off so early in the day. As the puddles appeared on the pitch during the night it was clear that the game wasn't going to happen and Blubbs had to make do with a point.

Duck Derby 2010

Despite the breezy weather the sun finally came out as the 2010 Duck Race got under-way, the beer flowed and the bangers.....well they banged, all over the barbie as Hoggy and Sherman desperately tried to keep them in one piece.

Darley Home

As week thirteen of the season got under-way it was Darley dragging their bags down the slope to Angry Bay and with the other top teams all playing games against the bottom end of the table Captain Angry knew he needed at least five points from the game to keep Blubbs' title race on track. Sherman and Plattsey got the Angry-o-meter rising before the game even started, rolling down to the hut stinking of ale and bleary eyed after a night out at Shermans Rave.

Winning the toss Angry decided to have a bat on a nice green wicket which promised much for the bowlers and with still no sign of the batting order randomiser Winton and Vassey were making their way out to the middle to get the innings started.

Hampsthwaite Horror for Mario

Mario looked like breaking the Evening League sides run of bad form at the expense of the Hampsthwaite Hommers on Wednesday night, batting first the hosts only managed to post a meagre ninety four all out as Sherman (3 -11) and Vassey (3-32) inflicted most of the damage on the Hampsthwaite batting order.

With eighteen overs to chase down the target Blubbs got off to a confident but steady start with Plattsey and Arnie getting the innings under way, Arnie even managed a six in his highest score of the season (14). Plattsey (29) and Winton De La Hoya (33) set Blubbs up for a comfortable win needing only two from the last over but the big hitting last few overs were all in vain when Festa's lead boots weighed him down at the non-strikers end as he saw off attempted singles from Winton, Bupa and Vassey and Hampsthwaite walked away with a shock win over Marios ten.

Rainton Away

Rainton castle was Angry's destination as the second half of the season got underway and Sherman was hoping the fearsome King Rainton wasn't going to make an appearance and spoil the day like last time Blubbs visited the ground. Angry called "Heads" and heads it was and the vistors were batting first on another hot summers day.

The random-o-meter was broken this week so Angry had to stick with last weeks lineup as new dad Vassey made his way out to the middle Angry was unlocking the cage to unleash prizefighter Winton from his six foot square cell to get the innings under-way.

Bishop Thornton Home

"Hot sticky scenes, you know what I mean", the sun shone brightly as the season reached halfway and Blubbs entertained a struggling Bishop Thornton side. Angry, looking to move Angry's boundaries to double figures, chose to bat first after Captain Derrick Warfe made the wrong call and the roulette wheel was spinning to see who was first out to the middle. Black twenty nine and it was Clubber Vassey's walking out to the middle with The Sun Bed King at the top of the order, as Junior Clubber was near to making an appearance.
